Honey

Honey is a sweet food made by honey bees using nectar from flowers or the secretions from the live parts of plants or that is found on them, which the bees suck up, transform, combine with their own specific substances and store, leaving the honey to mature in honeycombs inside the beehive.

We process both bulk and packed honey under the brand names San Miguel and Sanamel for the end consumer.  All processes are carried out in the traditional way, maintaining all the honey’s qualities, so that it reaches your home with all its aroma and purity intact.

Monoflorals Honeys

The intrinsic characteristics of all types of honey (chemical, physical and organoleptic) are determined by two factors. The producer bees and the flowers they have visited.

Broadly speaking there are three different types of honey:

*Honeydew Honey: Which is also sometimes called forest honey, does not come from nectar, but from another type of vegetable juices and the secretions of other insects that the bee uses. It is very rich in melicitose, and has more minerals and aminoacids than normal honey.

*Polyflower Honey: This honey comes from the nectar of different vegetable species (at least two), none of which are predominant over the others. What characterises this honey are the types of pollen that are found in the areas it comes from.

*Monofloral Honey: On the contrary to the previous one, this honey is produced mostly from the pollen of one type of flower, although it also contains varying amounts of other plants

Bee Pollen

polen

Among the many products that bees provide us with, pollen is one of the most complete and energising.  Bees extract pollen from flowers, make small balls of it and store it in their honeycombs, in small cells created especially for the purpose.  The pollen is strengthened further with the nectar that they use to produce honey, which increases its nutritional properties and benefits for health.

We offer natural multicolour and single colour flower pollen in 50 Kg barrels and 25 Kg
